Useful information includes for each herb used: I read that pure ascorbic acid was the best method (500 mg), however when I went to purchase the Vitamin C they had at least four different kinds. I ended up choosing Vitamin C w/ Rose hips although I later read that this included the Bioflavinoids that your sight warned against.

Name of the herb: Vitamin C mostly and the last two days I added Dong Quai to help my utereus contract
Amount taken: On Day 1 I choose to take the Vitamin C 500mg two every two hours. I did this for the next 48 hours (I even woke up during the night...having water beside your bed for those late night pill popping sessions makes it alot easier than to keep getting up) On the third day I started taking five pills and would wait five hours later to take another dose. I did this religiously the third day and slacked off on the fourth because I started feeling more crampy than usual. The fourth day I took four pills that morning and didn't take another four until about eight hours later. After taking another four pills that evening I went and used the rest room and saw an extremely lightly pink color when I wiped. This made me excited and so I ran out and purchased a bottle of Dong Quai (400 mg capsules) from my grocery store. That night (approximately 10:30 pm) I took four Vitamin C pills and two Dong Quai. This sent my body into an extremely crampy stage and I became quite scared actually. I thought about going to the hospital, but decided to tough it out. After falling asleep around 3:00 am, I awoke feeling kind of tired but decided to take the same combo as the night before. This was about 9:00 am. The same results, however this time I couldn't sleep. I eventually went to the rest room and passed a small round sac. I can't really explain it because I really didn't want to look at it, but I felt it come through my cervix. This was about 11:00 am.

Duration (dates are useful) : I began the Vitamin C on January 5, 2001 at 6:30 pm. I introduced Dong Quai to this on January 8, 2001 at 10:30 pm and took my last herbal combo at 9:30 am on January 9, 2001.

side effects: The herbs did make me crampy. Nothing unusual because I already have heavy cramping w/ my period anyway so I could handle it. The Dong Quai made me feel like I was in labor. I have one daughter and so I remember what that pain was like. After I stopped taking the combo the cramps went back to the way they were before. I haven't been bleeding to heavy, at least nothing more than usual. The cramps are still there but only small shallow ones. I don't feel to tired unlike a clinical abortion when I felt all washed up for about a day or two.

Comments - Because I had already had two clinical abortions, there was a slight embarassment to get another. However I knew that I was young and didn't need another child, at least not right now. I was going to get a clinical abortion but I decided to get on the net and look up other methods to an abortion, which is when I found your site. After reading a few of the other herbs I was kind of skeptical at first but then I later decided that the Vitamin C might be a good idea to try. To be honest with you if it hadn't have worked for me I probably would have that that it was a mere hoax. Thank you so much for this advice and I promise to pass this information on to any friend that might be in need. I appreciate you dearly. Thank you again. You have saved me time, money and the embarassment of going to a clinic and getting this procedure done. You are truely wonderful.

Is there anything you would have done differently? No.

Why did you choose to try herbal options first rather than just go for a clinical or medical abortion?
I had already had two done at a clinic before and didn't really like the side effects from the drugs they gave me. Another thing that bothered me was the thought that everybody that was at the clinic was there for the same thing. I looked at them and they at me and although no one said anything we all were slightly embarassed. Sort of ashamed of what we were doing, although we all had really good reasons as to why we were doing what we were doing. It didn't feel right. That was the hard part about the two abortions. It wasn't the small part of me growing inside (I had already asked its forgiveness) or the religious factors (I had already believed He forgave me)...it was the staring eyes that I hated to face. Would they forgive me? Could they forgive me? Could they even forgive themselves? The herbal option was much more personal, more secluded, more closed and the only people that know about it are the ones that I chose to tell.
