Did you have a pregnancy test? Yes
If no pregnancy test was taken - do you think you were pregnant? How strongly do you feel this way? I didn't think I was, only wanted to make sure. I was really fertile though, I had just ovulated and WOULD have been pregnant.
Were you successful in using the herbs? yes
Is there anything that clued you in that the herbs might be working before bleeding started? Mild cramping, irritablity
Is this your first pregnancy? It would not have been
Do you cycle regularly or irregularly? I had been regular for a while, but I have a history of irregular cycles. Up til March, I was on time.
For how many days were the herbs used (total)? 5 days
Were you using birth control? yes
Did you experience any symptoms or signs of pregnancy? not really.
Please include a summary of dosage information.
I started out small with just two cups of Parsley and Ginger tea and two 1000 mg capsules of vitamin C on the first day. I also used a parsley leaf insert on the second, third, and fourth days. I increased the tea and the vitamin C every day, going by how I felt. On the 4th day, I was drinking the tea every two hours and taking two 1000 mg pills every two hours beginning at 10 am til about 8pm. . I had slight cramping on the third, and fourth day. I stopped on the 6th day because I had ran out of herbs. I decided to wait and see what happened. I started late that night/early next morning.
Side effects. Gassy and queasy
How did the herbs affect you? I noticed a warm sensation that I figured was due to the ginger. I had one hot flash.
Any positive effects? I didn't have an appetite at all until meal time. I didn't want to snack or anything.
Where there any negative effects? Nothing I would consider negative as in something that would turn me off to using these methods again.
Do you have any health problems or issues? no
If the herbs caused miscarriage -- how did you feel just before bleeding began? And when bleeding started - How was the bleeding, cramping, etc? Many women would like to know more about this part. If you can describe what it was like for you it would be helpful.
Well, I didn't miscarry, at least I don't think I did, but the cramping was very slight and the bleeding is heavy and bright red.
Your Story -
I was two months late on my period. I had taken tests and I wasn't pregnant, but nothing was happening. Had sex on May 8th with no protection, but only for a short time and he did not finish. I didn't worry that much because I didn't think I had ovulated anyway. But when the condom broke on the 15th, I did worry. I had only had one small pain in my ovary but I felt like I had ovulated by then. I did what I could to 'clean' myself out. The next morning I day I found your website after searching for EVER for some kind of help. I was going to call my OB for a morning after pill, but after thinking about the incident the week before, I knew if I was pregnant from that, that the pill wouldn't work. Also didn't think I could have kept that confidential, and this needed to be kept quiet.
After finding your site, I started the treatment on Monday (condom broke on Saturday). I increased my dosage of vitamin C every day, just kinda playing it by ear. I also increased my intake of the tea. I felt gassy and a little queasy and a little irritable starting on the second day. That lasted thru til the 5th day. I stopped everything on the 6th day because I was out of the herbs.
I decided to wait and see if anything happened and planned on a more aggressive attack if nothing did, but late on the sixth night/early 7th day, I finally started my period and breathed a huge sigh of relief. Heavy flow, bright red, the most beautiful thing I have seen in a while, hehe.
SO HAPPY I found this site, and I am so relieved it worked. It helped me to know my body better and it was an empowering experience. The tea, once I figured out to (duh) put honey in it, was not bad or unpleasant at ALL. It was nice. I think I over did things on the fourth night with the ginger though. I added more than I had been adding and then I took a hot bath. I got so hot, I thought I was going to DIE. I was flushed and dizzy, so I got out of the tub and into a cool shower. My face stayed red all night. That was my fault, I know better now.
Is there anything you would have done differently? I would have added a little less ginger on that fourth day! and the obvious, I would have been more careful.
There are many lessons that can be learned from an experience such as this, Do you feel you have learned something from this experience? If so what?
I learned to be more careful and that I don't have to freak out if something like this happens again because there is a good chance I can remedy it myself, and that is a great feeling.
