Yarrow

An excellent herb for controlling bleeding. It grows wild in many parts of the world (USA, Canada, Europe, Russia?? and very possibly other places as well) It can be used fresh in a tea or used as a tincture. The leaves and or flowers of the plant may be used.

Sheperd's Purse

10-20 drops of a tincture made from the fresh plant.
1 teaspoon (150 drops) tincture made from the dried herb.
10-20 drops of Witch Hazel Haemamelis virginiana (not the drug store variety).³


Caution: Large doses may cause heart palpitations. Those with a history of kidney problems or kidney stones should use this herb with caution, preferably under the supervision of a herbalist.


There are other plants will work to aid in controlling bleeding than the ones listed here. It is very important to work with someone who is skilled in this area, do not try to do it alone. Hemorrhage is not some thing to fool around with. There is no reason to allow your self to bleed to death, literally.
