Age: 33
Pregnancy Test: Positive

Did you have a pregnancy test? several
When was it taken? last one taken at doctor's office 9/12
What was the result. positive
If more than one test was taken please include info for each one.
also a home test the night before, faint positive, and a negative on 9/1 when I took the emergency contraception kit

How was the pregnancy ended? M+M (methotrexate and misoprostol), shot administered 9/21 (at between 0 and 7 days late)
Were you successful in using the herbs? no

Were you using birth control? no
If you were not using birth control, please share why not. I was on vacation for a few days and forgot my diaphragm. I thought I was still in a safe zone. In reality, it was day 11. Wishful thinking.

What was the date of the first day of your last menstrual period? 8/20
Do you know the date of fertilizing intercourse? What was it? 8/30
What was the date you were expecting menstruation? between 9/16 and 9/21
How long do your cycles usually run? between 27 and 35 days
Do you cycle regularly or irregularly? regularly

What was the date when the herbs were started? 9/7
for how many days were the herbs used (total)? 11 (with one day off)

Preven kit: Sept. 1 (night) + Sept.. 2 (morning)
Vit C: Sept. 7 (1000 mg./2 hrs.*) - Sept. 18 (except Sept.. 9)
Evening Primrose Oil: Sept. 12-Sept. 15 (every 4 hours)
Dong Quai: Sept.. 16 - Sept. 18 (500 mg./2 hrs.*)

*At night I took four 500 mg. time-release Vit C and 1000 mg. DQ before bed, then woke up four hours later with my alarm and repeated. I took the primrose oil to prepare my body for the DQ (to soften the cervix as your site says); I stopped it because I thought it might counteract the DQ, since it's supposed to inhibit uterine contractions (why it works so well for me when I have cramps!).

I was fairly religious about this schedule. I was amazed at how less pregnant I felt when I started the Vit C (I started feeling pregnant the day after I conceived, even my breasts got tender right away, with the backache and oppressive tiredness). The Vitamin C worked so well at minimizing the symptoms that I was starting to wonder if it was all in my head toward the time my period was to show up, but a home pregnancy test put to rest any such delusions I might have entertained.

Is there anything you would have done differently? In retrospect... probably I would just have waited till I had a positive pregnancy test and then gone in for the M+M. I spent a long time taking massive doses of supplements with an unknown success rate, which I then followed up with more bad stuff from my doctor. it probably would have been easier on me physically if I had decided on the M+M as Plan A, since it's supposed to work 94% of the time. On the other hand, I sure learned a lot from doing the research into herbs and supplements, and don't regret the experience of having tried it for the reason that it was something new and a chance to learn more about my body and myself.

Thanks for the wonderful service to English-speaking women across the globe!
