Success: Yes
Preg Test: Yes
# of Weeks Pregnant when herbs were started: 4 weeks
Herbs Used: Blue Cohosh, Black Cohosh, Dong Quai

What was the date of the first day of your last menstrual period?
Best guess is around the 19th of August

Do you know the date of fertilizing intercourse? What was it?
Yes! August 30th

Did you have a pregnancy test? What was the result? and when was it taken?
Yes, but it was taken a week before I expected my period and it came back with a "weak" second line, but in my opinion positive. I was definitely pregnant.

When were the herbs started? Please include dosage information.
I started Vit C and parsley inserts and tea on the 28th of Sept., moved on the blue cohosh on the 30th in 40 drops of tincture every few hours, but not through the night. Next day I included black cohosh at about 25 drops of tincture, with the 40 drops of blue cohosh and 2 (or usually three) capsules of Dong Quai at 1.13gms per capsule. I did this for one full day, again not at night however.

Is there anything you would have done differently?
Started the herbs earlier.

Although I started the herb process much later that I would have -- with hindsight -- chosen, I didn't have a whole lot of faith that it would work.

Two days after I had sex on the 30th of August I felt myself ovulate and immediately took two birth control pills. I was not currently taking birth control pills (had not been taking for three months, but had some extra). I believed this (perhaps incorrectly) this to be the equivalent of "the morning after pill.

Instead I concentrated on my own spiritual connection in releasing the physical form of the spirit and visited my energetic healer five times. I made an appointment for a clinical abortion on the 29th of September, but shortly after making the appointment I felt the "need" to change it to the following Monday.

I began taking Vit C and parsley tea and parsley inserts on the 28th. On the 29th I included blue cohosh tincture at 40 drops every 3 hours. On the 30th I had a very powerful session with my healer and began to include black cohosh and 20-25 drops of tincture and Dong Quai at 2 (usually 3) capsules at 1.13 grams. I took the combination every 2-3 hours. By the end of the day I felt my kidneys getting sore and decided not to continue through the night with the herbs.

On Friday the 1st of October I took a couple doses of Dong Quai only and had pretty much given up hope and began to prepare for my clinical visit. I began to feel that the herbs would not work. I felt that the successful herbal abortions I had read about on your site would have miscarried without herbs. Saturday and Sunday passed without any herb dosage. I was now just beginning my 5th week of pregnancy and Monday was my doctor's appointment. Late on Sunday night I show signs that couldn't be called "spotting" but rather a tan colored slight discharge. My hopes went up. On Monday morning, first thing, I got a few spots of almost blood. I kept checking and finally by the early afternoon was getting real red blood. The cramping started around 4:00pm and is continuing. I have passed some clots but not the actual sac yet... As of Tuesday morning I am still cramping and bleeding. I do smoke and gave up hope that Vit C would have helped - I guess it is my belief that the Dong Quai was a big contributing factor. I also massaged my achilles heel/tendon to relax my uterus. This web site and its stories were an immense comfort and help. Thank you.
