Do you smoke tobacco? No

Did you have a pregnancy test? yes
When was it taken? 1 day after missed period
What was the result. Positive

How was the pregnancy ended? surgical termination.
Were you successful in using the herbs? no
Would you try herbs again, or recommend them to a friend in the same situation? I don't think so

Is there anything that clued you in that the herbs might be working before bleeding started? I was feeling light cramps but I felt so lousy from the herbs that I stopped.
Is this your first pregnancy? No.

What was the date of the first day of your last menstrual period? January 2nd
Do you know the date of fertilizing intercourse? approximately Jan 9th
What was the date you were expecting menstruation? Jan 30th
How long do your cycles usually run? does it vary? not by more than 1 day

What was the date when the herbs were started? Feb. 6th
How many weeks pregnant were you when the herbs were started? 4 weeks
For how many days were the herbs used (total)? 6 days
What was the date the pregnancy was terminated? Feb. 14th (how romantic)

Were you using birth control? no
If you were not using birth control, please share why not. I have tried many different types of birth control, but had adverse reactions to most of them. The pill affected my hormones, which I really need to be stable, the diaphragm gave me uncomfort ability and infection and the IUD actually came out of me and condoms feel terrible.

Did you experience any symptoms or signs of pregnancy?
The pregnancy symptoms were unusually swollen breasts, thick waist, flat singing voice and hormonal change (very giddy feeling).

Herbs used: vitamin c , Dong Quai.
Amount taken: 500 mg per hour, except during the night.
Frequency: hourly
Duration 5 days
Side effects: None from the c.
other comments: I was not very patient with the c, I started taking the Dong Quai the 2nd day. I took it for 5 days and never had more than a mild cramp. All the side effects that I was warned about happened. My liver was strongly effected. (anger, nausea, cravings for unhealthy, fatty foods). I started getting dizzy and decided that since I was going to need to get a sonogram, I might as well get the surgical abortion.

Do you have any health problems or issues? mild liver challenge
If yes, do you think it had any affect on the way the herbs affected you? yes

Your Story -

I feel very empowered and free that I had the choice to take care of myself as I saw fit. This is a very difficult issue, emotionally and physically and spiritually. I would just like to say that for me, getting pregnant is such a happy and pleasurable experience that it has been a challenge for me to keep from getting pregnant. . I have 2 beautiful children, but don't feel that I could give my best to a baby at this point in my life. I have just tried to abort the herbal way but didn't give it a full chance as I began to feel ill. I also knew that I would need to make sure the process was complete from the tests at the clinic. I feel comfortable (not happy) about having a surgical abortion. I am now facing the decision about having a tubal ligation. I fully support any woman who considers all the options. and many thanks to Sister Zeus for the beautiful (forbidden) knowledge. Much love.
